With this new version I bring two enhancements, which will hopefully make Open Access Helper better for you! I would love to hear from you on how you like these features, or what else you’d like to see implemented.
Open Access Search
You can now select between core.ac.uk and europepmc.org for Open Access Searches. While Europe PMC typically will return more than just Open Access, I limit these searches to those items that have a PDF available.
If you are interested in life-sciences this new API will serve you very well and is worth a look. To enable, simply tap Settings and within the Open Access Options activate the Use Europe PMC for Search option. Deactivate that option to return to core.ac.uk
Zotero Bookmarks
Zotero is a free, easy-to-use tool to help you collect, organize, cite, and share research. Open Access Helper has had a bookmark feature for quite a while now, but there was no easy way to use these bookmarks outside of Open Access Helper.
Zotero Bookmarks enables you to connect Zotero with Open Access Helper through an OAuth authentication flow. Open Access Helper will add a new Collection (Folder) to your Zotero Library and any reference you will “bookmark” will be saved there. You can access these references from within Open Access Helper and from within Zotero.
